Happy Summer everyone! Here in Rhode Island the Memorial Day weekend has brought warm weather and the season of outdoor eating. Here at the Skill It headquarters we are working on a small food garden in two raised beds. We have letttuce, chard, kale, radish, carrots, arugula, mustard and tatsoi planted and they look lovely already!
I can’t think of a more kid-friendly activity than having a small garden on your porch, yard, or even kitchen. Any pot filled with a seed or young plant start is a wonderful way to more fully experience where our food comes from.
Enjoy this great resource from the National Gardening Association for more ideas!
